Penalties from Las Vegas

Runaway wheels at Las Vegas Motor Speedway have led to suspensions for the jackmen and tire changers of Kyle Busch and Chase Briscoe’s teams, forcing both to adjust their pit crews ahead of this weekend’s race at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

For Busch, jackman Joseph Moser and tire changer Shiloh Windsor will serve one-race suspensions, while Briscoe’s team will be without tire changer Daniel Smith and jackman Caleb Dirks. Both teams have already announced replacements for the Homestead-Miami race to ensure efficient pit stops.

Meanwhile, Christopher Bell narrowly avoided a similar penalty when his crew chief, Adam Stevens, reacted quickly to a loose wheel, instructing Bell to pull into a teammate’s pit box before exiting. This allowed the team to secure the tire without violating NASCAR’s rules – the penalty wasn’t as severe and was served at the track.

Additionally, NASCAR indefinitely suspended two individuals for violating its substance abuse policy. Corbin Sklener, a tire changer for RFK Racing, and Josiah Wright, a jackman for Mike Harmon Racing in the Xfinity Series, were both removed from their respective teams as part of NASCAR’s strict policy enforcement.
