Denny Hamlin and Joe Gibbs Racing have secured a new primary sponsor following the departure of longtime partner FedEx. Beginning in 2025, Progressive will sponsor Hamlin for 18 races, starting with the Straight Talk Wireless 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway on Sunday.
FedEx had been a cornerstone of Hamlin’s Cup Series career, backing him since his debut in 2005. However, after gradually reducing its involvement in recent seasons, the shipping giant ended its sponsorship at the conclusion of the 2024 season.
While the long-term future of Progressive’s partnership remains uncertain, the deal brings much-needed financial stability to Joe Gibbs Racing and ensures that Hamlin’s No. 11 Toyota will have a prominent sponsor for the majority of the season. Even if the agreement lasts only through 2025, it marks a significant step for both the driver and the organization.
In today’s NASCAR landscape, where sponsorship deals often fluctuate, a high-profile brand like Progressive committing to half the Cup Series schedule is a win for Hamlin and the sport as a whole.
Fans will get their first look at the new Progressive-sponsored No. 11 Toyota when Hamlin takes to the track at Homestead-Miami Speedway. The Straight Talk Wireless 400 will serve as the beginning of this new partnership, as Hamlin looks to contend for victory with fresh backing behind him.
