Daniel Suárez resigns with Trackhouse Racing for 2025 season
Daniel Suárez, the driver of the No. 99 Chevrolet, will continue his journey with Trackhouse Racing in the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series season, as announced by the team on Friday.
Freeway Insurance is also set to return as the primary sponsor for the No. 99 team in 2025, covering one-third of next season’s races, including marquee events like the Daytona 500 and NASCAR All-Star Race. “Trackhouse is home to me, and I have enjoyed every minute I have been here,” Suárez shared in a team release. “We plan to keep working, growing, and winning more races. We can only do that with the support of my Amigos and Amigas at Freeway Insurance. They have backed me for the last several years and we have grown close with their customers and employees.”
Suárez, a two-time Cup Series winner, was the first driver signed by Trackhouse Racing for its debut season in 2021. He achieved his first Cup Series victory at Sonoma Raceway in June 2022, becoming only the fifth driver born outside the United States to win a Cup race.
At 32 years old, Suárez has secured one win in the 2024 season, triumphing at Atlanta Motor Speedway in a race decided by just 0.003 seconds—one of the closest finishes in NASCAR history. This victory, in a thrilling three-wide finish with Ryan Blaney and Kyle Busch, ensured the No. 99 car’s spot in the playoffs.
In addition to his Cup Series success, Suárez has won three times in the Xfinity Series and has one victory in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. The Monterrey, Mexico native also made history by winning the 2016 Xfinity Championship, becoming the first non-American driver to claim a title across NASCAR’s three national series.
As of now, Suárez sits 17th in the series standings, following his eighth-place finish at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on July 21.
