NASCAR unveils 2025 Cup Series Schedule
With several teasers dropped in the past few weeks regarding upcoming landmark races in 2025, NASCAR has finally released the full 2025 schedule.
The Cup Series season kicks off with a nostalgic twist as The Clash returns to Bowman Gray Stadium for a non-points exhibition on February 2, marking the Cup Series’ first competitive visit to the 0.25-mile track since 1971. Two weeks later, the regular season will begin with the 67th annual Daytona 500 on February 16. Among the early-season highlights is a March 2nd race at Circuit of the Americas and a spring event on March 23 at Homestead-Miami Speedway, which moves out of the NASCAR Playoffs.
The most notable addition to the 2025 NASCAR schedule is the Cup Series’ venture into international territory. NASCAR will head to Mexico City on June 15 for a points-paying race at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez, marking the top series’ first points event outside the U.S. since July 1958. The Xfinity Series, which previously raced in Mexico City from 2005 to 2008, will join the Cup Series for a race south of the U.S. border on June 14.
Other schedule shifts include Darlington Raceway’s spring date moving to April 6, and Bristol Motor Speedway’s race moving to April 13, just a week before the series pauses for Easter weekend. While the Cup Series takes a break, the Xfinity Series and Craftsman Truck Series will race at the historic Rockingham Speedway.
Memorial Day Weekend will see the start of Amazon Prime Video’s coverage with a five-race stretch beginning with the Coca-Cola 600 on May 25 at Charlotte Motor Speedway, followed by a June 1 race at Nashville Superspeedway. The rest of the Prime Video slate includes Michigan International Speedway, Mexico City, and Pocono Raceway, with each race also serving as part of NASCAR’s inaugural in-season tournament.
This five-race, bracket-style competition begins on June 28 at Atlanta Motor Speedway, with TNT Sports and Max taking over the coverage. The tournament then shifts to the Chicago Street Course on July 6, followed by races at Sonoma Raceway (July 13), Dover Motor Speedway (July 20), and Indianapolis Motor Speedway on July 27, where the Brickyard 400 will conclude the tournament.
NBC Sports will then handle broadcasting duties for the remainder of the season, starting on August 3 at Iowa Speedway, which returns for its second season on the Cup schedule. Watkins Glen moves back to mid-August from its 2024 playoff date, followed by Richmond on August 16 in a Saturday night feature. The regular-season finale will take place at Daytona International Speedway on Saturday, August 23, finalizing the 16-driver playoff field.
The 2025 postseason kicks off on August 31 at Darlington Raceway with the Southern 500 during Labor Day Weekend, leading off the Round of 16. World Wide Technology Raceway at Gateway joins the NASCAR Playoffs for the first time, hosting the second race of the opening round before the first elimination race on September 13 at Bristol.
New Hampshire Motor Speedway returns to the postseason for the first time since 2017, hosting the Round of 12 opener, followed by races at Kansas Speedway and the Charlotte Motor Speedway Roval to close the round.
Las Vegas Motor Speedway will host the opening race of the Round of 8, followed by Talladega Superspeedway, which could dramatically impact the playoff standings ahead of the season’s penultimate race at Martinsville Speedway, where the Championship 4 will be determined.
The season concludes on November 2 at Phoenix Raceway with the NASCAR Cup Series Championship Race. For a complete look at the Cup Series schedule, see below:
