Spire Motorsports confirmed Tuesday that Justin Haley will not return to the team after the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series season, officially opening one of the more intriguing seats on the 2026 grid.
Haley’s first full-time campaign with Spire has been a challenging one. In 33 starts, he’s managed just two top-10 finishes and currently sits 31st in the Cup standings. The 25-year-old joined Spire late in 2024, running the final seven races before signing on full-time for 2025.
With his departure now set, attention immediately turns to who might take over the No. 7 Chevrolet. Among the leading names being floated is Daniel Suárez — the 33-year-old veteran with more than 320 Cup starts and two career wins. After five seasons with Trackhouse Racing, Suárez could bring valuable experience and stability to Spire, potentially bridging the gap between seasoned teammate Michael McDowell and rising star Carson Hocevar.
