Xtreme Xperience – Various Locations

Are you a thrill seeker with a bucket list?  Are you into motorsports and cars?  What about exotic cars?  Do you have a need for speed?  If you answered yes to even one of these questions, then you HAVE to read on because we’ve got the perfect experience for you.  The Xtreme Xperience!

This unique activity/attraction speaks to car enthusiasts and adrenaline seekers who would not otherwise have access to such supercars as a Porsche 911 GT3, a Ferrari 458 Italia or 488 GTB, an Audi R8 V10, or a Lamborghini Huracan.  Let’s face it, these exotic beauties are beyond expensive and are far out of reach for the average person.  They’re also impractical for the average person seeing as you can’t carpool the kids to school or soccer practice in any one of them. So that’s where Xtreme Xperience steps in, allowing average people to have the not-so-average experience of racing a supercar on a bona fide track.

At what racetrack?  There are several actually, as Xtreme Xperience crisscrosses the USA each year, stopping in various cities for various tracks along the way.  This year they added Toronto, Canada to their schedule with a 3-day weekend on the Driver Development Track at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (which is where our review took place).

In a way, it’s similar to the NASCAR or INDY circuit, both of which travel from race track to race track each weekend to give fans everywhere a chance to see the action.  In the case of XX; however, it’s a chance for people to be PART OF THE ACTION!

How does it work?  Well, for starters the experience can be purchased online HERE with the option of choosing the track you want to visit and the supercar you wish to drive for 3 laps.  There are also options for multi-car packages meaning that drivers can select more than one vehicle and can drive them back to back, each for 3 laps.  Cars vary in price and rates are in US funds for a venture that includes classroom instruction, the option to purchase a Lead Car warm-up for further guidance, followed by the actual supercar experience that comes complete with an in-car instructor to help participants navigate the track.

Additional purchases include an In-Car Video Package that offers high definition footage of the experience taken from 2 angles that capture the drive as well as the driver.  The Full Throttle Package takes the aforementioned and adds an Xtreme Xperience T-shirt to commemorate the event along with a Pit Pass for a friend or family member.

The entire process is very well organized and well run by an outgoing and passionate group of professionals that delight in seeing participants get the most out of their on-track adventure.

The classroom instruction is well presented, with just enough humor to alleviate any nervousness participants might feel and just the right amount of seriousness to convey the very real risks and thus, the importance of following directions.  A short Q&A ensues to address any last concerns.  The classroom portion is just long enough to impart necessary guidance but not so long that it loses anyone’s attention. Then it’s time to get underway.

Trackside organization includes line-up areas for the Lead Car experience, which is highly recommended as it gives drivers a good sense of the track, including the use of traffic cones as indicators for lifting, braking, cutting the apex of a corner, and squeezing the throttle. Head socks and helmets are passed out to participants and any purses, backpacks or large personal belongings are collected and held in a safe area overseen by XX personnel.

After that, it’s time to let the adrenaline flow as drivers are led to their requested cars and are strapped in while their seat is perfectly adjusted.  Introductions are made between participants and the designated instructor, who briefly goes over hand signals and instructions one more time before hitting the track and dropping the hammer.

It doesn’t take long to grasp the feel of the car and the inevitable G-forces as you navigate an S-turn at high speed, roll through a hairpin turn and then squeeze the throttle to the floor along a straightaway. No doubt you’ll be shocked at the way your supercar will hug the road and turn like butter. And, as one of our reviewers put it, your cheeks will hurt as a result of your ear to ear smile from beginning to end.

It’s important to note that instructors recognize the need for participants to make the experience about THEIR wants and needs, so they don’t push drivers into situations they’re not comfortable with.  For those that want to take the track at 200 mph, they’re totally on board and will help to make the adventure as safe, seamless, and enjoyable as possible.  For those that want their experience to be a bit slower and less intense, the instructors are supportive of that as well.  Either way, we guarantee that everyone who tries it will get out of the car feeling like a rockstar and will immediately want to do it again.  Xtreme Xperience understands this and allows for participants to buy more laps in the same car or a different car, and even with the same instructor if they desire.

Although the Toronto event is now over, there are plenty of racetracks left on the schedule between now and December 8th, which will end the 2018 season.  And there are presale tracks listed for 2019, starting with Los Angeles on the weekend of February 8-10th.  A year-round experience exists in New Orleans.

Some participants have fallen so in love with the ability to race a supercar that they follow XX to various tracks around the country, much in the same way race fans follow the Indy or NASCAR circuit.  And we can totally understand why.  It’s thrilling. It’s addictive!  It’s EXTREME!

Trust us, it’s a MUST-DO!  Check it out for yourself with our video experience below:
